So PMzies, if you never go outside from summer you need to wrap dat up because Miss Summer on her way out! Anyways, welcome to the Brokie Calendar, the only guide to a soft lifestyle that is soft on the pocket.
Preston Media has scoured social media for the upcoming events where you vibe on a budget! Since the beginning of summer, we have been reeling in some great catches! So, if you're on hall or in Kingston, check out this month’s calendar – Captain’s orders!
1. Grace Food Festival (Bigback Summer is Here!)
It's back and bigger than ever! Grace is looking out for the foodies and hosting their food festival for the chatting, music rocking and big backing! Plus they have live giveaways!!
Date: August 23, 2025 @ 11am to 10pm
Location: Palm Drive, Hope Gardens
Admission: $1000 presold, $1500 at the gate and children under 12 free

2. Kingston Creative Artwalk Festival "Food and Fashion" (The Satiated and Stylish Combo)
Glamour is gracing the stage at the Downtown Kingston Art Walk! Saint International will be there having a runway show and a model search aaand there will be a style competition! A baaay tings a gwaan! This August will be an ensemble of fashion, food and fun (the Captain’s favourite things) that is sure to add some spice to your summer semester!
It is highly recommended that you do not attempt to take public transport to get there. Please ask someone you trust to drop you off and pick you up. Or else, nuh bada go. Free parking at the MFG parking lot.
Date: August 31, 2025 @ 10am - 6pm
Location: Water Lane, Downtown Kingston
Admission: Free
Hop on and off tours: You have to board the bus at the Artwalk Festival at Church Street. Cost: $1000 to go to all the stops. But some attractions/stops will charge their own entry fee.

3. One Pan Ah Knock - CB Chicken Food Festival (You Can't Have Enough Food Festivals)
It's the season finale and last boss of the season, and CB chicken has to let you know that! Bad Dawg, pan chicken, food for dayzzz! And guess what? Lila Ike and Kevin Downswell ago perform!!! You'd be mad to miss this!

Location: Jamaica College, Hope Road, Kingston
Admission: Free
